Almost worthy of a speeding ticket, the bike rider swept around a roundabout in Sohar on his upright cycle.
We came across him just before we made a short visit to Sohar Fort. The restoration work is at an interesting stage. The tower seems to be complete; and its familiar whitewash is now
the standard Omani Fort Brown. However far more interesting are the exposed fired bricks which were used in Sohar since early Islamic times (though these exposed ones may well be from the 18th-19thc). I wonder if the the attraction of exposed brickwork will survive the authorities preference of Omani Fort Brown so familiar to people on their travels in Oman .
